Port-of-Spain, Trinidad: It was requested, even demanded and he delivered. After years of making hit after soca parang hit, RemBunction has finally released his much anticipated full length Christmas album entitled ‘A Merry Remy Christmas.’ RemBunction has established himself as a stalwart in the soca parang space, ever since his first sensation ‘Mr. Santa Claus’ released in 2006. The runaway hit, paved the way for other classics such as ‘Samantha Claus’, ‘Macafouchette’ and most recently ‘None for Yuh.’  In 2013, RemBunction has compiled his classics with some new hits to produce an album that leaves its listeners washed with the joy of a true Caribbean Christmas.

This album, A Merry Remy Christmas, cleverly mixes RemBunction’s signature comedic soca parang tunes with some more reflective songs that pay homage to the season and all the emotions it evokes around family and friends. Many of the songs draw from the rich and unique musical history of parang music. The song ‘Jubilation,’ showcases a collaboration with one of the musical giants in parang music- Robert Munro. Well-known ‘jamoo’ artistes, Isaac Blackman and Sheldon Blackman also make their presence known in the song, ‘Home for Christmas.’ The merriment, the camaraderie, the food and the music that are hallmarks of a Caribbean Christmas are all wrapped up in new release, ‘MoreDanDat.’ This song is quickly followed by the electrifying rhythms of another new release, ‘Thunderbolt’ featuring live instrumentation by Joseph 'Joey' Rivers on cuatros, guitars and maracas. Taste of traditional parang sounds are heard from Viva La Nueva parang group that provide instrumentation for songs like ‘None for Yuh’,’ Leh We Meet Up’ and ‘Jingle Dance.’ The album features masterful production work with mixes from Richard ‘Charsu’ Ahong, Keron ‘Sheriff’ Thompson, Neil Bernard, Isaac Blackman, Shawn 'Mastamind' Noel with mastering done by  Martin ‘Mice’ Raymond.

When asked the reason why the album was released now, RemBunction points to his listeners. He says, ‘My goal is to keep my listeners happy. They have been asking for this album for a while, and things just lined up in 2013 to make it a reality. I enjoy keeping our Caribbean cultural traditions alive through music and I want to share them with those who want to hear.’

The album is available for purchase on itunes and at the M Store at Piarco International Airport.
