Fun, feast and frolic, these are three words that I would use to describe Soka in Moka XV.  The first all-inclusive fete to kick off carnival 2k14 did so in style and not to mention bigger and better than it has ever been.

Despite the slight drizzle, this years patrons were spared from the rains that have become a staple of this event. More so than previous installments the event was well attended, so much that movement throughout the event proved to be a challenge. However with a fixed spot by one of the many the bars, who needs to move? Hosts JW and Nikki Crosby were as entertaining as usual as they kept the crowd laughing between performances.

First up on the bill was Dil E Nadan and their front man the reigning Chutney Soca Monarch champion Raymond Ramnarine. As expected they kept the crowd upbeat and jamming to hit after hit, some of theirs and most of other artists, but just as good. Next up was Roy Cape All Stars along with ‘Emulsion’ Blaxx, as renamed by host JW, graced the stage alongside special guests Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon, Kerwin Dubois, Sherwayne Winchester and all the way from Grenada Mr.  Killa. Who not to mention literally killed it with his energetic/acrobatic performance.

Last, but certainly not least was big band Asylum, Bungi Garlin and Fayann who left the crowd begging for an encore.

Food and drinks were in abundance as per usual; well stocked premium bar and the famous suckling pig had patrons lining up for miles.
