Girlfriends’ Getaway, the US film shot entirely in Trinidad and Tobago is entering its fourth week in cinemas since premiering on September 2nd 2014, at Movietowne.

The Bobbcat Films/TV One movie which stars American actresses, Garcelle Beauvais (The Jamie Fox Show, Flight, White House Down), Malinda Williams (Soul Food, The Wood), Essence Atkins (Haunted House, Half and Half) and Teri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show) alongside local lead actors, Frances DeLancey, Russell Wilkinson, Kevon Brooks and Penelope Spencer, has been leaving audiences in stitches and has been receiving rave reviews from both local and US Audiences.

Filmed on locations in Trinidad such as Maracas Beach, Bayshore, Santa Cruz, Piarco International Airport, Kapok and Crews Inn, the movie was directed by Roger Bobb, former Executive VP Tyler Perry Studios. Trinidad and Tobago’s Lisa Wickham, President & CEO of Imagine Media International Limited served as Producer alongside American Angi Bones. Bones is also an alumna of Tyler Perry Studios.

The script, which was originally set in the Bahamas, was written by Cas Sigers who along with Terri J Vaughn runs Nina-Holiday production company. The two also served as Executive Producers on the film.

Roger Bobb decided on Trinidad as the location after a meeting in LA earlier this year with Wickham and Carla Foderingham, CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company.

The movie continues in its fourth week at Movie Towne, Port of Spain and Chaguanas.
