The carnival movement must permeate the fabric of our society.
More love and less hate is necessary. More deaths which follow the natural progression of life are necessary. Not lives which are cut short because love was not at the forefront of the thought process.
If you were ever on the fence about going to carnival or not sure that you should go, I'm telling you right now - YOU NEED TO GO.
And it's not because of the partying, the wining, the jumping, the paint, the powder, the mud, the oil, the costumes, the soca, the trucks, the men, the women, the fetes or the all-inclusives. It is because there are few places on the planet, and I've been all over the world, where love is the principle order of the day. There are few places on the planet where there is an understood "no judgement" policy. And there are too few times when you can actually go to a place and be so filled with love and good vibes that you, as an individual, can become a carrier of such a virus and infect others with it.

The only place that I have been to, personally speaking, which is like that are the Olympic Games. That is the only place where I have seen so many nationalities, countries, groups, and persons come together under one unified quality movement for days on end. I'm sure there are other opportunities where this occurs but I've only seen it in one other place like I have seen it at carnival.
And for this reason alone.... you need to go.

Miami Carnival 2014
=============
I still reflect back on my time last year in Miami, after coming from J'ouvert. I was on interstate 95 heading south and a van swerved over into my lane and I had to react quickly and I hit the guard rail. I thought for SURE that I was going to hit the rail and the car was going to ricochet back into the 5 lanes of traffic. I was riding with my friend Rey and I just knew that, this was going to be it! That feeling of, "This is really going to be bad" came over me and I can remember saying to myself internally, "Naw, not like this."
As the Lord would have it, the car hit the rail and got slightly out of control but I was able to still negotiate the vehicle and slow down. The driver of the van stopped too after I did and he got out. He was considerably rattled and begin to apologize.
My car was dented and slightly damaged. The accident was 100% his fault.
I looked at him and asked him, "Are you okay?"
He said, "Yes."
He then started to tell me about his insurance and I just gave him a hug and said, "Buddy, sometimes being alive is payment enough. If you are okay and I'm okay, we're good."
My friend Rey couldn't believe it. He said, "Man, that guy was nervous. He thought you were going to...."
I interrupted him and I said, "Rey, it's carnival. Good vibes. That's all. Let's just be thankful."
I know that everyone may not have the same reaction but I can tell you this.
When you are on the road and you have been filled with good vibes, you can only release good vibes. When you fill yourself up with negativity, then all you have is negativity to release.

Focusing and Refocusing
During Carnival
==================
Carnival allows you the opportunity to focus on the things that are important. Life, health, family, relationships, and your spiritual relationship(s). And because of this opportunity, what you see at fetes and parties are people who are having a good time because they are solely pouring out that which they have received. And others are there to receive it and give it in the same respect.
This is why, if you are on the fence about carnival that.......
You NEED to go.
You should most certainly start to dip your feet in the water and do some fetes and play in some of the smaller carnivals and then make your way to other larger ones.
Do it today.

If you were sick and needed some medicine, it wouldn't matter how expensive the medicine was, you'd find a way to get it. Well, the world is sick. We are the antivirus. The "good vibes" are the medicine that the world needs. Carnival has the medicine. Go get it and deliver it. Infect the world with it and get infected with it. Be the virus that permeates the fabric of our society and provides help by hurdling over the impediments of status, race, class, position and socio-economics.
Get the medicine.
Be the medicine.
