First and foremost, let me make it clear that I am NOT complaining. I understand that I am blessed beyond measure to travel the world and my home country and fete and party and lime like its nobody's business. I also understand that being able to attend carnivals around the globe is a privilege.

And I am thankful and grateful for that.

But....... Ah cyah lie!!! Nothing pisses me off more than when work gets in the way of my fetting schedule!!!

And you know this too.

This has happened to all of us.

We have a WHOLE weekend planned and THEN your boss, supervisor or client, at the last freaking minute books your for that weekend or tells you that you have to work or be on travel.

And then you start to do the thing.  You know... that thing where you are trying to find out some ridiculous way to actually make it to at least something that you have planned for the weekend. Then you realize that there is no way without getting fired, losing your job or losing the client.

Well that's what happened to me this weekend.

I Was Ready To Go

I had my lineup set up and ready.

Next week, I'm heading to Bermuda for the 1st Annual Bermuda Carnival. I could not make it to the 1st Annual Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival but I still wanted to be a part of carnival history by attending somebody's first annual carnival  so I'm going to Bermuda next week!

But as part of my lineup here what I was planning on doing:

1. Friday - I was going to a fete in Orlando With DJ Private Ryan on Friday night.
2. Saturday -  I was going to drive down to Miami for the Generation X Band Launch featuring..... DJ Private Ryan ( I am so pissed about not being able to go to this that you have no idea!!!)
3. Sunday - I was going to use my miles and get on a plane to go to Washington, DC for the SAUCE Day Fete and then fly back into Miami afterwards
4. Monday - In the morning I was going to get back in my car, check on my parents on the way and drive back home to Tampa.

I had the PERFECT weekend of fetting set up and then..........I got the call!! >:-|

Now, I know that I have no grounds to be upset at all but, I am.

First Step......
Admit That You Have
A Problem

I'm an addict. A junkie. And soca fiend.  And yes, I know I need help.
And I am getting help. I am taking my regular doses of Private Ryan's Post Carnival Relief two times a day as prescribed and I can feel myself getting better.

Okay, that's a lie.

I can feel myself...... um.... being able to hang in there until Miami Carnival!  Yeah, that's it. I can feel myself being able to hang in there until Miami Carnival.

So, I'm aware that I have a problem.  But......

But.... today I want to tell you what you SHOULD do when work gets in the way of your Fete Addiction.

You have to Quit. That's right ladies and gentlemen, QUIT YOUR M******* F**** JOB!!  You don't need that sh*t!!

Okay, I'm just kidding.  LOL!!!!!

I know some of you were reading that thinking, "What type of madness is this?"  LOL!!!

The Reason Why You
Can Fete!

On a serious note, what you have to do is pause for a moment and  reflect on why you are really upset.  You are upset because you know that you are going to miss out on such a great time. But the reason that you know that is because you HAVE attended fetes, carnival and celebrations before. And such experiences were provided by way of money, means and resources from SOMEBODY'S job if not yours directly. And when you change your perspective a little bit you will realize that your job actually ALLOWS you to fete.

So, be grateful that you have the opportunity to be pissed!

And uh.... somebody please trow a likkle "donation wine" fuh meh this weekend!
