One of the most popular and well attended events on the Carnival Calendar AC7 will take place at the National Stadium thanks to the Honourable Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Mr. Gary Hunt and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. This announcement was made on Thursday the 5th by the Honourable Minister after successful negotiations with Management on the terms of use of the Stadium for the event.

In keeping with the terms of use the event management team will be focusing on the safety and security of patrons and attention to protecting the event environment which is currently being prepared for this year Caribbean Games. The Minister in his release recognised the significance of Machel’s contribution to the cultural landscape of Carnival and to the development of music and the Carnival art form.

Machel Montano’s AC7, “Heavenly Drums” scheduled for Saturday the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day promises to be a must attend event. This will be the third year that Machel will host AC at the stadium to what already looks like a sold out crowd. AC has grown into the premiere event for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival attracting more than 25,000 people from Trinidad and Tobago and abroad. The show has attracted international attention and massive exposure of our local artistes and culture and has been extended to performances at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2007 and 2008.

In 2009 Machel will collaborate with many international and regional stars including Lil Jon of the USA, Pitbull Cuba/Miami, Collie Buddz Bermuda and Busy Signal from Jamaica who will join with him in showcasing the tremendous talent of Trinidad and Tobago. February 14th, a night of LOVE, will be embraced by all present to make the night a most memorable and positive one.

The understanding and consideration of the Ministry is highly appreciated and the HD Family promises to make this event a memorable, safe and clean experience.
