Minister of Sport, the Honourable Brent Sancho, wants to encourage young people to take advantage of the Summer Sports Camps which have now begun at 23 locations across Trinidad and Tobago, and to try a new discipline, “obviously our core sports are a big draw but I would like to encourage youngsters to try something new, a sport that they may not usually have access to, keeping in mind, that all disciplines are keen to attract new talent.”

Managed by personnel from both the SPORT Company and the Ministry of Sport, the camps cater to all levels of ability and feature a wide range of options including athletics, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, football, rugby, netball, sailing, swimming, table tennis, and volleyball. They are free and lunch is provided, they cater to boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 17 and even though they began on Monday limited registration is still possible.
