Machel Montano HD has once again produced several songs (Ravin, Block To Block, Mesmerize, Fire On The Floor, Pray, Won't Stop, Push Bumpers (Remix) and Fly Away) for the carnival season, but a lot of fans are not impressed, when making comparisons to his 2007 mega Road March hit "Jumbie". In 2008, we saw Montano take his music in a new worldly direction. His he is still continuing on this trend?
Here's Machel Montano HD release for the road (unless his soon to be released "Haunted" is HD's secret weapon) ... it's called "WILD ANTZ".
Can Machel take home the 2009 Road March title? Or will Fay-ann Lyons defend her title with "Meet Super Blue"? Who are your Road March favourites?

"Hands in air like Ants"?? Alrighty then ... ah never see ants put dey hands in de air or wave in de air, yes! I can only hope this is not HD's Road March contender .... if so, Fay-Ann and Blaxx sitting real nice right about now. "Fire on the Floor" and "Ravin" are the two HD tracks that moving the crowd in fetes so far ... but we have 2 weeks tuh go. Only time will tell...

Sorry Machel, I love all your music, but I really hope you have a secret weapon. Wild Antz does not have the road march beat like Ravin, Jumbie and Band of the Year. I think Blaxx and Faye-Anne giving you a run for yuh money this year again.

Loveeee!!! this tune and it's my roadmarch. It's just great, it combines awesome lyrics with a rhythm for the road. I don't think the little imagination (hands in the air like ants) hurts the song's concept. I am a Machel fan and I cannot convince viewers that my opinion here is an objective one but I too was not sold on most of HD's material this season. This song here is just brilliantly penned.

Wild Antz is a nice concept...real pressure for the road. but ah think he need to put some heat under Won't Stop...remix it or something,cuz da'z a real RM contender dey

Ah love Machel eh but ah doh think "Wild Antz" should be de song contending fuh Road March. Ravin' is a much better song fuh Road March. And ah love Faye-Ann too eh but "Meet Super Blue" is not a song dat will make yuh feel tuh release all yuh energy on de road at a judging point like how "Get On" was last year.

COULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT BETTER GIVEN THE CONCEPT ALONE. CARNIVAL DOES BE PPL LIKE ANTS, BUT THIS SONG DOES NOT PORTRAY THAT RIGHT. IT ALMOST HAS AN INSULTING FEELING TO IT. SORRY MACHEL. LEAVE THIS YEAR TO DESTRA, IWER AND/OR FAYE-ANN TO BATTLE FOR ROAD MARCH.

Machel is having an awful 2009 season. He needs to do some introspection and "wheel and come again". None of his songs deserve to place in the top 3 for road march. Antz is a disaster. My top 3 for the road are 1. Meet Super Blue 2. Tusty 3. Living Water.

This is the worst song that I have ever heard Machel sang. It's really stupid. Machel seem to be desperate to win road march because Fay Ann make him eat his words last year. There waaaaaaaaay much better road march songs than that this year. Machel's peak was the year when he sang Jumbie. Every year after that his level keep dropping. I prefer Kmc's Living Water and I Wiil and I also Like Detra's Baccahnal, and of course Fay ann Meet Super. Those are true road march contenders. All those who saying Machel's ants for the road are Machel's fanatics. You all need to be real and stop encouraging rubbish to play on airwaves. Bring back melody in the road march, songs that people can sing a long to and jump up to and not allow Machel to look at us as ants. We are not ants we are human beings. Machel your time has expired time to pack up and go home and sleep.

This song is Kool. I love the fast tempo alot, sometimes you have to listen to the whole song to really feel the vibes.

Look people, I just reach back, need to go to work, but I will TELL you this: DESTRA was without doubt the better tune for the Road 2009...........and should of won hands down. 410 to 76 to Fay Ann looks bad but we all know the truth................
Listen to how Fay Ann came over last year to this years 'Meet Super Blue', last year was Road March no doubt clear winner, this year NO CHANCE, the tune was lacking (for a Road March) running 3rd (in my humble opinion) to Destra's 'Bacchannel', and Blaxx 'Thirsty', however Road March is NOT determined by us the people on the Road, and you all know that to be true, I have nothing against Fay Ann, she is a class act like her father before her, but Bacchannel will be the tune remembered for 2009, and will be the tune playing at Notting Hill Carnival this Summer I will fill you in later, with how it all went, for now, I GONE!!!!!!!!! And YES, 'Rave' was a much better tune than 'Ants' |

Totally agree. Destra was robbed of her Road March title again this year. It was like 2003 all over again. Destra play all through the streets of Trinidad and Tobago with a mass explosion of revellery and "bachannal," and yet Meet Super Blue win. Just like 2003. Its Carnival was all you heard in Port of Spain, and yet Display won. She has been robbed twice now of her Road March crown; but thats alright. Destra does make music for the people to enjoy, and the people know what really ruled the Road.

ditch it...one time...sht is wack and tryin...sounds like a formula song. AND I LOVE MACHELS MUSIC!!! So im not being a hater. Every other song he did this year was TEN times better than Ants. And that video...WHAT DE HELL????? Epitome of wackness! The only time I half enjoyed the song was when I was intoxicated...and even then I questioned myself...lol. Oh yeah, final thought... since when do ants wave they hands the air...??? B

Did NOT feel this song at all.. This year was my first carnival ever in T&T. I had been to many carnival fetes in the past years, but this was my first year to play mas. The music last year was 100 times better than this year. This upset me because I wanted to play my first mas with AMAZING music.. (that didn't happen) The only artist I feel that really blew me away this year was Kes the Band..

I LOOOOVE MONTANO, this is the same song with a little diferenc in the lyrics ditch it. Machel we love U. Dont' sleep on your self, is time to wake up, u're the best Soca entertainer .. give we the thing, u have it!
