Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. April 13, 2016 -  A healthy baby boy or girl was all that he wanted. He got his healthy baby boy on April 12th. Trinidad ad Tobago rising reggae and dancehall artiste, Raskality’snow a father. With many disturbing images in his mind of the unkind treatment meted out to young children in today’s society, he has already made a solemn vow to his young child- to be the best father he can be. It was a piece of advice given to the new dad by fellow entertainer, Fadda Moses. Like his music, over the years has expressed, Raskality says he believes in positive movements and choices. The birth of his son this week will change his life, he knows, but it’s a change he says he has anticipated for quite some time.

In recent weeks, Raskality’s name has churned up a level of interest many may not have expected. The single, DNK, collaboratively done with fellow T&T reggae/dancehall artistes, Jamelody and Fadda Moses, has fared well. In fact, its rotation across the airwaves in T&T, is quire pronounced. “I’m thankful for that,” said the young act, admitting that it’s almost always a difficult feat to achieve.

On Wednesday, one day after the birth of his son, Raskality and his team delivered the music video for DNK. “It’s been tough. Concentrating on getting this video completed and calming my anxiety about the baby coming… it’s been tough,” he laughs. The production was done by Grassroots- the team that worked with Raskality on his very first video for the track “I Promise” in 2009. He says he has grown to trust Grassroots, explaining that the production team understands his vision and executes just as heanticipates, every time.

Raskality - DNK (Dem Never Know) ft. Fadda Moses, Jamelody

The video in itself will likely hit home for many of T&T and the Caribbean’s youth. As Raskality explained, the video showcases the real life journey of a young man who chooses the less travelled path, but winds up paying an unfortunate price. “It’s something every youth who faces challenges will understand and relate to,” he said, reiterating that his music will always speak for the people, and motivate them to be better.

More music is in the pipeline and ready to be unleashed. He has two singles on the way, he said, referring to them as“ ‘Sky High’ and ‘Warzone’. “The work never stops. I know hard work pays off every time. My son will see in me, the true measure of a man- true ambition, focus and drive so that no matter what career path he chooses, he would have learnt to push hard and never stop till he reaches the top.”
