The VIP Lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port-of-Spain, Tuesday May 03, 2016 – Trinidad & Tobago Grand Games reveals line up for its first Athletics Invitational on Saturday May 21, 2016 at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain.

Top US sprinter Ryan Bailey is the latest to confirm his participation in the Men's 100m sprint. He joins a stellar cast that includes the likes of Warren Weir (JAM), Natasha Morrison (JAM), Christine Ohuruogu (GBR), Michelle-Lee Ahye (TTO), Keshorn Walcott (TTO), Kurt Felix (GRE), Michelle Carter (USA), Cleopatra Borel (TTO) and many more.

A total of 117 athletes from 25 countries including Trinidad & Tobago have opted to compete in this inaugural invitational dubbed “Showdown At Sundown” as they continue their preparation for Rio 2016.

This Class 1 NACAC Area Permit Meeting comprises 12 Track and 4 Field events: Men's 100m, Women's 100m, Men's 200m, Women's 200, Men's 400m, Women's 400m, Men's 800m, Women's 800m, Men's 5000m, Men's 110 Hurdles, Men's 400 Hurdles, Women's 400 Hurdles, Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Javelin and Women's Shot Put.

The TTGG Organising Committee which includes CEO, Ms. Regina John, Technical Competition Director, Mr. Dexter Voisin, Communications Manager, Ms. Dahlia Ditzen and Marketing Manager, Sherwin Gibson are working around the clock to ensure that everything is in place for the athletes as well as for the fans that are coming out to support.

It is the first time in 32 years a meet at this level will take place on home soil. Trinbagonians will have a chance to see the event live in the flesh. “Showdown At Sundown” will also be broadcasted live via Flow Sports throughout the region.
