The credibility of the RETV School Tour was enforced on Tuesday March 24, when the cadre of acts who are supporting the theme of Abstinence .... Mek Sense, delivered gigantic performances and rocked the Queens High School like a tremor that crept out of no where.

When the Tour bus drove onto the school compound, it was evident that this wasn’t going to be a normal afternoon.

After being entertained by their fellow students and treated to games and giveaways courtesy of RETV VJ Supa Hype and the Vibes Master Jerry D, the students at Queens High School were in for a rude awakening.

A heavy duty cast supported by Ce’Cile, Alaine, Terro 3000, Prodigal Son, Goddy Goddy, Tifa, Timberlee, Natalie Storm, Chino, Laden, Etana;, D’Angel, Konshens, and surprise guest artiste  Rising Stars 2008 winner Cameal Davis, provided the backdrop for what was without a doubt, one of the best showings of the RETV School Tour so far.

Students scream, cried and tugged at their favourite stars as they made their way onto and off the stage. One student was so overcome with emotion that she cried during Laden’s performance. She was later greeted with a hug by the rising dancehall artiste, and the tears flowed like water from a tap.

Dancer Mystic was in her element as she demonstrated the latest dance moves to an appreciative audience.  Terro 3000 created ripples with In My Life and This is How I Feel, while D’Angel scored excellent grades with Stronger and Blaze among her other hits. Ce’Cile could hardly sing the notes to I’m Waiting and Ride or Die, as the students took over choir duties.

Etana was in good form with a serving of delicacies including Roots, I Am Not Afraid and Wrong Address, while Alaine rode high with Never Done, Sacrifice and No Ordinary Love.

Tifa, Timberlee and Natalie Storm brought the dancehall vibes with Bottom of the Barrel, Heels and Bubble Like Soup and Talk Di Tings respectively and kept the students on a musical high.

Chino, Goddy Goddy, Prodigal Son, Konshens and Davis all created havoc during their respective sets, as the students sang along word for word to each of their songs.

What was also interesting was the fact that each artiste drove home the point about the importance of Abstinence. Several of them made references about the theme Abstinence…Make Sense during their performances.

Mr. Matthew Mothersil from the Ministry of Education also spoke to the students about taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of HIV AIDS.
