Trinidad and Tobago:- It's an explosion of world rhythms when Chutney music meets World Beat music, on a night when the biggest names in the business are featured here in TT. This is definitely the largest musical event ever to be staged outside of Port of Spain, according to producer Randy Glasgow Productions (RGP).

The 1st Annual Chutney and  World Rhythms Festival will take place at  National Cricket Centre, Couva on Saturday August 26. Patrons will enjoy the latest in Chutney and fusion music with the most memorable collaborations to take place here in this country.

Trinidad and Tobago is described as the cultural hub of the Caribbean, a place where Reggae, Dance Hall, Jazz, Pop and Indo-pop has found a home to match Calypso, Soca and Chutney Soca and Rapso music.

Chutney & World Rhythms Festival  will feature the present and next generation of Chutney Stars and bands alongside world beat music artistes from this region in the inaugural edition.

The playbill include's on the Chutney side, Anil Bheem and The BMERZ Empire, Indar Kanhai, Rakesh Yankerran,  KI and The Band, Drupatee, Sally Sagram, Savita Singh and others. On the World Best side, Music icon, Mungal Patersar and Panter, Local Rock Fusion star, Nigel Rojas with Orange Sky and new singing sensation Nailah Blackman and her band. RGP CEO Randy Glasgow said recently it was his company's intention to premier this festival last year.

"So much was happening in our country on all fronts, with lots of recession  talk and dropping a new major festival outside of the city was risky business. Nothing has changed for the better, however, we feel sweet, motivating and invigouring music is what our citizens need as comfort in this timing." Glasgow said. "It is our company's intention to grow and nurture this festival as one of the best in this region and the world in the shortest of time.

We expect all the major businesses in Central to assist, one way or the other.

Central as the venue was to ensure easy accessibility to our music loving citizens living in the north, south, east and Tobago. We are confident all will go well. Lookout for a 2 day festival in 2018 God's Willing." Glasgow concluded.

Admission prices are very affordable when comparing to other major events. $150 for general area and VIP $250. Patrons are welcomed to bring their coolers with plastic bottles only and food.
