Kingston, Jamaica, April 17, 2009
-- The most highly anticipated event of the carnival season is almost here. Months of ongoing preparations, parties and performances build to an unforgettable pinnacle of beauty that is our Carnival Road March.

Going on display, Sunday, April 19, will be Bacchanal Jamaica’s carnival parade titled “Bacchanal Gone Hollywood”. This year, the spectacular event features nine colourful costumes all depicting the Hollywood theme with names such as Troy, Vegas Guys & Dolls, Casablanca, La Dolce Vita, Stardust, Moulin Rouge, Pocahontas, Cleopatra and Showgirls. Also adding to the extravaganza will be several specially-made character costumes which will be placed throughout the band. To keep all these costumed revellers chipping all day long Bacchanal has enlisted Trinidadian band Imij & Co. whom also made an appearance earlier in the year for Bacchanal Friday’s Vegas Vacation. Imij has been a staple on the road with Bacchanal Jamaica and this year they are sure to deliver. Spinning live will be DJ Smoke from the Renaissance group, DJ Private Ryan who also plays for the Mas Band Tribe in T&T and resident Mas Camp DJs Sparkles Disco. Following the same route as last year, the carnival band will depart Mona at 10am and continue through the streets of Kingston before commencing at the Mas Camp Village.

Not jumping this carnival, you can still come out and enjoy the festivities along the road parade route or at happening locations like Truck Stop. So bring you rag and get ready to wave as Bacchanal Jamaica gets ready for Carnival 2009.
