ASIS International has seated its first-ever Global Board of Directors. Creating history in 2020 as one of the first directors selected through the new governance process is Malcolm B. Reid, CPP. The selection of the new global board is a major step in the association’s sixty-five (65) year history and a significant transition to a new global governance structure that will allow ASIS to better serve its tens of thousands of members at the local, regional, and global levels.

Reid brings significant experience to the board through prior appointments on the USA National
chapter Board of the Business Continuity Institute as well as memberships on the boards of 501
(c)(3) organizations such as the Families of the Wounded Fund and Mega Mentors.

Reid is also a member of the Information Technology Advisory Council of Virginia State University and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Podium Foundation. He is currently the Managing Director of Brison LLC, a risk, crisis, and security advisory firm operating in Virginia. He has conducted numerous enterprise security risk assessments, critical infrastructure assessments, business impact analyses and fraud risk assessments for global clients to include a national-level risk assessment of one of the top ten largest exporters of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in the world.

Reid is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management and is the first Trinidadian-born graduate of the Academy.

He also earned a Master of Arts degree (Cum Laude) in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, an MBA from the Henley Business School, University of Reading in the United Kingdom, and a Master of Science (Cum Laude) in Information Assurance from Norwich University. Reid is also one of a handful of practitioners globally to hold the top professional certifications in the disciplines of Security Management, Business Continuity and Fraud Prevention simultaneously.

He continues to be invited to speak at several global conferences and major industry events. After receiving his appointment Reid was quoted as saying “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve our 34,000 members globally and advance the best practices of the Security profession.”
