BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Alison Hinds will be the headline artiste in the first installment of the Caribbean Unplugged Series on Friday, June 13th at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.

Caribbean Unplugged is being presented by Caribbean Airlines and the Caribbean American Heritage of Florida Inc. (CAHFI) as a part of their programming for Caribbean American Heritage Month at the AARLCC.

Known internationally as the Soca Queen, Alison Hinds will be performing acoustic interpretations of her extensive catalog including hits singles such as “Faluma”, “Togetherness” and “Roll it Gal”.

“Caribbean Unplugged will provide a new dimension to West Indian musical artistes, allowing us to hear their music like never before” says Asa Sealy, CAHFI’S President. “Most people are used to hearing Alison Hinds in a Carnival atmosphere and don’t realize how well she can actually really sing.”

Hinds will be joined by a diverse array of special guest musicians and vocalists. In addition to the concert, attendees will have the opportunity to view the “Colors of the Caribbean” Art Exhibit hosted at the library for the month of June.
