Triniboi Joocie

Trinidad and Tobago’s own Triniboi Joocie will this weekend appear on Season 11 of The Voice UK. Now in its 11th Season, The Voice UK has existed since 2012 and has been a career-defining opportunity for those selected to showcase their talents. Episode 5, which airs on Saturday 01st October 2022 from 8:00 PM (GMT+1) will showcase the talented performer, vocalist, pannist and Nottinghill Carnival Ambassador.

Joocie, whose real name is Rodell Sorzano continues to be one of Soca’s foremost ambassadors in the United Kingdom and Europe. Best known for his 2020 hit collaboration with Wetty Beatz titled ‘Bottle Over Head’ he has been successfully advocating for Soca in Europe for over a decade. Earlier this year, in June, Triniboi Joocie sang ‘Pan in A Minor’ by Lord Kitchener backed by a 100-piece pan ensemble at the Queen’s Jubilee at Buckingham Palace.

His entry into The Voice UK is an intentional attempt to advance his career and showcase the culture of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean by extension. “This is somewhat surreal but I am confident that I will leave a lasting impression on judges Will.i.am., Anne Marie, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs as well as the viewing public” says Sorzano. Though, unable to divulge much information on the competition, Triniboi Joocie is excited to embark on this journey with millions of onlookers.
