Nigel Barker, fashion photographer and judge from the acclaimed America’s Next Top Model show, will host a high fashion training seminar to take place in Trinidad on August 16.
Barker will give professional tips on photography, and the difference between editorial, commercial and high fashion photo shoots, as well as general tips on the elements that add to the making of a top model.
Organised by Sidaico Image Services in conjunction with Tempo, the region’s leading entertainment channel, the seminar is open to models, fashion photographers, designers/fashion stylists, makeup artists or anyone involved in anything fashion related.
Other topics to be addressed include image and wardrobe management, runway techniques, career management, makeup for all occasions and more.
Particular emphasis will be placed on models that register for the seminar. From this group, Tempo will select a group of models for a new reality show called Gorgeous.
The first model registration/search for the seminar is carded for May 17 in Trinidad at La Casa de Ibiza on Tragarete Road, followed by similar registrations in six other islands including Tobago.
Tempo is using the Sidaico seminar as a pool from which to cull models since they are looking for participants who are serious about their careers and willing to invest in it.
Twelve girls will eventually be chosen to live together for the filming of the show.
The cost for the seminar is USD$450.00 and that includes refreshments and a certificate. Upon registration, models must pay a fee of USD$50.00 to secure a spot in the class, as well as to become eligible for Tempo’s show. The balance however, can be paid in full, or in part, with the full amount due no later than August 7th 2009.
Sidaico Image Services is also looking for male models, full figured and mature models to be selected from a pool of the course applicants at a selection process to be hosted the day before the seminar, (Saturday August 15). Barker will lead the team of judges for that process. Tempo would also be searching among the seminar participants for male models as they prepare for production of the follow-up series Gorgeous Man.
