Grenada’s 2007 Road March King Berbice launched his drink responsibly campaign last week. Drink driving is on an increase each year throughout the world. Berbice’s new track ‘Doh give me more rum’ has received a great response and decide it was his duty to put a safety message to all.
This message has so far been played on radio in Grenada, New York, Canada and London.
Earlier this year Berbice took part in the International Soca Monarch in Trinidad. Since then he has performed at many events across the globe. His 2008 track ‘Big up yourself’ was featured on ITV in London, England for Good Morning TV in April this year.
Berbice is travelling home to Grenada to take part in his home carnival, before jetting across to London for a event with Poison UK on August 28th. This event in London is Poison’s UK Soca showcase which has a host of artists performing across the Caribbean. Bunji Garlin, Trinidad’s Triple Crown winning Queen Fayeann Lyons, Ricky T, Lil Rick and Peter Ram will also be performing at this event.

Great song drinking and driving has become an epidemic World wide, many innocent lives are lost sensessly and recklessley by drunk drivers daily, monthy and annualy.
Berbice is spreading the message that you should control your drink and further states to his listeners the deadlliness of too much rum. Very, very, very very stong message to the Public. He did not critize Alcohol, instead he said it is good for the heart, but too much of it is deadly, where as most of the other rum songs the Singers ask to give them more rum or the rum without any limit and that I think is the wrong message to the Public, because rum can be deadly when not controlled. |
