After reaching Baje J'ouvert very late last year, and almost not getting in, we decided to make earlier movements this rounds. Plus, with the TJJ TV crew in tow, we definitely wanted to catch some of the Harbour Lights crowd and their madness before they left.

CROWD:
Insanely massive! Must have been 4,000+ easily. Radio advertising was done ... need we say more?! We didn't stick around to time how long it took to get in via the regular entrance, but the line was no joke! Oh, we must make mention of the sexy Baje Girls on stage wukkin' up stink, stink!

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Ocean Park works for this size crowd and all of the paint, foam and water dispensed. Parking is a serious bit%h ... esp if you don't arrive very, very early! Until there's some form of shuttle service system, parking on the ABC Highway and walking might be your best bet ... OR having a 4x4! Luckly for us, our rental was small ... so a nice double park in a lane no bigger than 15-20ft got us the "Best Parking Award" for the 2009 Crop Over season. It was a bessssss park ... no lie!

VIBES:
This year's J’ouvert entertainment featured top DJs like Skribzz and Flee, Cyclone and 'Nterfaze. But the highlight for us was performances by the "Immigration Federation" featuring Stabby ("Major Stabby Pain"), Nard ("Outta Space"), John Mohameed and Chow Mein with his massive 2009 hit "The Chinese Connection".

What's always a plus at Baje J'Ouvert is partygoers have the choice to get down and dirty or stay clean, whichever way your mood (or the alcohol) takes you on the night!

FOOD & DRINKS:
By the time we finished working, and remembered it was a "free drinks" fete, the bar had long buss! Reports were .... 7-10 bartenders and a shortage of liquor for the huge turnout didn't make the grade.

COST/VALUE:
Admission was only $35 ($17.50US) for Baje members with ID and $40 ($20US) for all others. By all means, pretty reasonable for a free drinks (if the bar doesn't buss). 3-4 drinks and you've broken even ... then toss in the live entertainment and a j'ouvert experience, and you're in the plus.
