Finally!  A Tribe fete in NYC baby!  Shorblu Events in association with B2B Entertainment and OPsalms Entertainment teamed up with Tribe for Reveiller, the first Tribe band launch to hit NYC. When the rumor hit the streets that this was about to go down, TJJ geared up immediately! It was held at the exclusive M2 Ultra Longe in Manhattan.  People if you've never been, you should.  The place is stunning.  Crystal ball chandeliers hung from sky high ceilings and velvet and leather sofas make this club uber sexy.  Perfect for this event. We arrived around 4pm and secured parking surprisingly easy.  Admission was even easier.  There was no uncomfortable "shake down" by security. :-)

On the inside, the music was warming up the crowd as they milled about with drinks in hand already.  The vibe was just right and obviously only going to get better.  The buzz was all about finally getting to see Tribe costumes in full effect. "Casual Chic" was the fashion order of the evening.  It was like everyone stepped out of the trendiest fashion magazines.  Bravo everyone! Fabulous! The show was scheduled to begin at 6pm but started about an hour later.  I think the delay only added to the excitement. The EXPENSIVE drinks continued to flow despite all of the raised eyebrows at the bar. We hear the food was on point but I missed it as usual. :-( When the host, Jeanille of BETJ appeared onstage the crowd was suddenly at attention and then all eyes were on the Aerial Silk Act.  Two long pieces of fabric stretched from the high ceiling to the floor as the female performers executed amazing spins, poses and drops that almost freaked everyone out!  It was like a mini Cirque du Soleil show. Soon after, each model had their moment of glory jammin to Won't Stop on repeat as they stomped along the narrow runway atop the leather lounges chairs.  Among them were Camille McDonald from ANTM and Miss Trinidad and Tobago World 2005, Jenna Marie Andre.
The costumes were all very beautiful. The crowd favorites were clearly Habotai, Charmeuse and Xi Ling Shi. The way the crystals picked up the lights in the costumes added to the wow factor.

To the our dismay, there were no frontlines and male costumes.  Also missing from the lineup were The Mystery of Loulan, Eri, Threads of Morrocco, Fire Silk, Silk of Rajasthan and Serica.  This was certainly a disappointment but did not ruin the vibe by any means. The jam session began immediately after the show with B2B, The Jugglers and Sounds 4 Life tearing it up.  Before we knew it people were jammin on the runway!  Bottles continued to pop and the wining did not stop. Kudos to the promoters for a fabulous event.  It can only get better and we are already looking forward to next year!  See you all in 2Ksilk!
