Pure Lime are the original chocolate people... going strong for twelve (12) years now ... and some of us ain't miss a year yet ... this is the core of Notting Hill ... this is where we show Londoners how to get on dutty in the streets ... and where team TJJ lick and get licked by random strangers !!!
This year Pure Lime changing up the vibes... they coming All Inclusive! For £40, yuh get yuh t-shirt, snacks, chow, endless alcohol, pelau, corn soup, endless jamming, buckets of chocolate and sweet soca music!! It's a must ... here is how it went down for 2k9...
The Sweet ...
Always meeting at a great spot, the band pull out just behind Latimer Road tube station (one of the few stations open for the carnival) with parking just off the route. Pure Lime looked organised, on time (well at least a compromise between British and Trini time!!) and drinks were flowing at 10.30am. Plus your choice of cheese rolls or a saltfish breakfast... Nice!
The wristbands were designed with pull off tabs for each treat included ... snap off the right piece for breakfast, a next one for chow etc. Whenever yuh ready! We likey!!
Two mins after pulling off from the Mas Camp, the chocolate buckets come out ... run for yuh life if you don't want to get dutty! Pure Lime have no shame ... down yuh back, over yuh head, even inside yuh panty!! Wowee .... and don't forget the chocolate sprinkles... it get sticky from early ... WE LOVE IT!
Mix in Specialists on the decks, Jugglers in the house, a little Diesel, finally add some sexy ladies with chocolate hand prints in forbidden places, Team TJJ are in their glee!!
The chocolate sweet !
The Sour...
With breakfast at 10.30am ... we got to admit, as much as when the jamming sweet yuh only want a quick pit stop for lunch, we were expecting our pelau somewhere along d route ... now Pure Lime yuh kept us going with snacks, crisps, chow and nutritious rum and scotch :-) ... but all that duttiness works up an appetite, so just a thought for next year ... Pelau on the road and corn soup when we get back to the camp would make this experience absolute perfection!!
Now the English weather was up to its old tricks, and after a while with the dried on chocolate we were a little chilly, so trust me the corn soup at the end was most welcomed ... we even trade pelau with patrons for a two cup of soup instead!! That leads me on smoothly to the bits we doh want yuh to ever change!!
The supreme... the fabulous... the chocolate heaven!!!
Notting Hill is not Notting Hill without Pure Lime!!! LET THERE BE CHOCOLATE!!
