CROWD:
Taking the 'Rise and Shine' theme to full effect this morning's crowd came out in full on yellow... gold was also a huge accessory for today! TALK ABOUT UNIQUE OUTFITS...We talking customised, Gucci sneakers, a lil blast from the past with some jazzy jeff styles from the 90s... retro Shine! TJJ had no idea that you could get so much gold in one place from teeth to jewellery to even Gold baseball caps... this crowd was blinging!! If you were from NYC you would fit right in, guessing from the way this crowd were taken with Jay Z's 'Empire State of Mind' word for word... the Trini's from NYC were in the house!!! Much respect to NYC!
SERVICE:
The sexy bartenders with their tattoos on show, dancing and serving the drinks was a definite plus for TJJ and added to the awesome vibes! There were two bars on the top floor of Club Nocturnal where 90% of the crowd were getting on. It seemed as though most people didn't realise there were two bars and most people were congregated around the bar at the front of the venue where yuh could climb up on top the raised levels to jam and get easy access to d bar same time! Considering this venue was jam jam packed we were pretty amazed that yuh never had to wait more than a few minutes for drinks.
COST/VALUE:
Whatever the cost Shine gave yuh yuh money's worth on pure vibes alone! We talking people leave TRIBE Ignite and Girl Power and reach Shine ALL 8AM and later and still get drinks, get real music from the latest hip hop to the hottest soca and at 12pm even after partying non stop, there was still a queue to get inside ... if Carnival vibes was yuh thing Shine give yuh plenty and there is no price tag on that!!!
VIBES:
If yuh only look up Shine in the dictionary... yuh definitely won't see social anywhere... you only seeing vibes vibes vibes... in abundance!!! Let US tell yuh how it went... this party was packed... we were packed in like little sardines in a tin and like every hour the place only getting tighter and tighter but yet somehow man find space to pick up his girl onto his shoulders, girls climb up on the edges and wine, we see one girl lift up her dress whilst up on the ledge to show ... ahem... her enjoyment! A girl tell us, 'Please no pictures because meh husband don't know I here !!!' Eh heh! People sneak out their house to go Shine yes... we love it! There was not a moment when people stood up ... no social tea party in sight, this was nonstop jamming! Back to Basics, Giselle De Wassi One and a cast of All Star DJs had the tunes pumping from start to finish ... only one warning if yuh don't want to sweat, this one not for you, this party is for the hardcore feters!!
VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Okay, so Shine has real vibes, the service was good but we got to say that the venue let us down. Club Nocturnal was not a bad place at all, don't get me wrong. It was in the heart of downtown Miami and spread over 3 floors, the top and main floor being open air ready for us to party as the sun came up. All the DJs and all the hardcore peeps reach the top floor with all the vibes but If you couldn't take the heat you could sneak downstairs into some air condition and listen to some conscious vibes and just chill. However, oustide the venue the parking options were limited... you had the choice of parking on the street or in an open air car park, both of which are not a great choice for this part of town. When leaving the venue, at least 2 cars had been broken into, one with the trunk lock gone and one piece of glass smashed... so the party lose a few points here because after all that good vibes, this was unfortunately the sour part. Our advice if yuh coming next year, pay the extra you have to pay, and walk the extra yuh might have to walk for secure parking.
FOOD/DRINK:
From premium drinks to crates and crates of Corona this party seemed to have it going on and from what we could tell nothing ran out, drinks were easy to get and flowing all round ... however, we not to sure about the prices ... !?!?
All in all, we would say if yuh love yuh hardcore rap mixed up with yuh Soca and yuh want to see all sorts of people with different shapes and sizes squeeze into their yellow outfits and having a real blast and, most of all if yuh aint easily shocked, like some bacchanal and need that Carnival vibe, Rise Miami Meets Shine NY is the place to be... be prepared to sweat, put on plenty deodorant, walk with yuh shades and careful where yuh park yuh car. Follow the TJJ advice and yuh in for a good time!
