Birmingham, AL (October 23-24, 2009):  Downtown Birmingham Rocks Like Kingston Jamaica.  The Caribbean Heritage Reggae Festival returns to downtown Birmingham for its 15th year, running October 23rd & 24th, 2009.  The Festival is held annually downtown in Author Shores Park, between 11th Avenue North and 12th Avenue, North and Shuffleworth Drive.

 The Caribbean Heritage Reggae Festival is a family friendly celebration of Caribbean Culture and music. The event will feature diverse multi-culture talent on one Main Stage. This year's talent will include The Sterling Brothers band, Derlesia Sims, JA White Dread(directly from Kingston Jamaica), Lee Danja, and various national and local upcoming artist in the different genres such as Reggae, R&B Jazz and Gospel.  Also featured will be various Community Dance and college Steppers.

Attractions will include Jamaican Dance Contest, Carnival King and Queen costume parade by Caribbean Appeal Entertainment, Saturday Morning Health Fair and Walk-a-Ton, PONNY RIDES, SWING RIDES, TRAIN RIDE, Arts and Crafts, Story Telling and Book Reading. Souvenir Vendors will also be on hand to display their goods and food vendors will be selling various Caribbean dishes.  Please join in and support this family event that has been developed to expand cultural awareness and encourage our community to come together and appreciate the Caribbean people's culture, food and music.
 
Patrons can expect a fun filled 2-day event. The festival is slated to begin on Friday October 23rd at 6:00pm and on Saturday October 24th at 3:00pm.  Advance tickets are being sold online at www.caribbeanheritagereggaefestival.com.  Advance Daily passes will only be $10 advance purchase and weekend passes will be $15 if purchased before October 10th.  After that the price will go up to $15 for the daily pass and $25 for the weekend passes.  Children under 12 are only $2.
 
The show will be hosted by Joan Savoury from 1030AM in Atlanta.
