T'is the season to be jolly! From December 3rd-6th, come celebrate Christmas with the Marionettes- the last in its three part concert series celebrating the choir's 45th anniversary.

Directed by Gretta Taylor, the choirs retain their tradition of performing an array of choral music to the highest standards. This year's Christmas concert will feature excerpts from Classical works such as Handel's Messiah and Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer, treasured African-American spirituals, and an impressive segment of music of the legendary Jazz musician Duke Ellington, which includes his popular Sacred Music. And of course, there'll be well-loved Christmas songs, some with unique, fun arrangements.

Christmas with the Marionettes will feature, along with their array of soloists, guest pannists Maureen Clement, Johann Chuckaree and Kern Sumerville, and guest pianist Justin Salloum.

Show times are 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 5pm on Sunday at Queen's Hall, St. Ann's. BPTT, faithful sponsors of the Marionettes for the past 37 years, will also sponsor an additional charity performance on Saturday 5th at 3pm.

Tickets for Thursday's gala performance, in aid of the Heroes Foundation, are $250. Tickets for the remaining performances are $150 Open Plan and $200 Reserved. Tickets for all performances are currently available from members of the choir and at the Queen's Hall Box Office.

ABOUT THE MARIONETTES:
Founded in 1964, incorporated as a nonprofit in 2005, and sponsored by bpTT since 1972, the Marionettes Chorale (Hummingbird Medal Gold) is one of the Caribbean's most celebrated choirs, both at home and abroad.  In 1995, the Youth Chorale was formed, comprised of boys and girls from over 30 schools throughout Trinidad & Tobago who regularly share the stage with their senior counterparts. Led since 1974 by conductor Gretta Taylor, assistant musical director Susan Dore and secretary and founder member Joanne Mendes, the choirs mount at least two major productions a year, showcasing a repertoire ranging from European Renaissance to Caribbean Folk and Calypso.
