Elizabeth, New Jersey (Sonique Solutions) – Trinidad and Tobago’s sons of the soil are returning to their homeland to release their latest Soca offering for Carnival 2010 entitled “For You”.

The duo of Keston Harris (aka D' Chancellor) and Kwasi Jones (aka Kemau) collectively known as SouthSide has once again paid musical homage to their native land and its indigenous genre, Soca. Their new uptempo track which embodies the energetic essence of T&T and its festivals comes at a time where eager mas enthusiasts, fete goers and ‘Socaphiles’ have Carnival 2010 at the forefront of their minds.

Both members of SouthSide (a name chosen to represent their hometown of Marabella, in the southern portion of Trinidad) now reside in New Jersey, USA. Although their time abroad has broadened their horizons musically and has given them an international and mainstream perspective, it has not in anyway compromised the authentic nature of their music, as evidenced by this most recent composition.

SouthSide, who last year gave us the Reggae ballad, “Empress” have created this 2K10 Soca smash in collaboration with one of the industry‘s most in demand producers/performers, Shawn “Da Ma$tamind” Noel of Ma$tamind Productions. Boasting dynamic lyricism and the production skill of a man responsible for numerous hits by artistes including Shurwayne Winchester, Bunji Garlin and Kes, “For You” is destined to be a sure fire crowd pleaser both in parties and on the streets. Harris and Jones state that the inspiration for writing “For You” was the spirit of the festival, the traditions of the mas and of course you, the loyal, vibrant Soca fans. While penning this tune, they envisioned all the elements of Carnival such as masqueraders crossing the stages and the masses jumping up and down to the sounds of the season.

Even though SouthSide has spent the majority of 2009 performing at major events in the US such as New Jersey International Music Fest and opening for the likes of American rappers Fabolous and Rick Ross and Caribbean Superstars Machel Montano, Buju Banton and Beenie Man, they fully embrace the opportunity to return home and entertain in T&T.

The group will certainly be traveling to sweet T&T in the first week of December in order to support the already bustling “For You” and will be visiting various media houses there. Their musical services have already been requested by Undercover Promotions for a performance at a band launching on December 5th.
