5 Minutes With Kevin LyttlePicture it, New Jersey, Six Flags Great Adventure, an arena filled with over 3,000 Soca loving fans ready to jam and wine down low in the hot sun without any rum or scotch in sight! This crowd was going to be hard to please and only an artist of caliber would be able to open the show and get the crowd moving and grooving to the music. Enter Kevin Lyttle, the Vincy with a million watt smile ready to pump up the crowd. After his performance, Kevin sat down with TJJ in the blazing sun at a picnic table backstage to get this very candid interview.

Eljon: Lawd, it's hot!
Kevin: It is.
Eljon: Okay, what is the one thing you can't travel without when you're on tour?
Kevin: I can't travel without my music, my tracks. If I didn't have my tracks, I wouldn't be able to perform. Right now I'm listening to Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, anything new and hot! Ne-Yo and Lil Wayne.

Eljon: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Kevin: Michael Jackson for sure!
Eljon: Me too.
Kevin: I would love to know his secrets for performing on stage. You know we have similar voices, in terms of range and pitch. I would look to him for advice.

Eljon: Doubles or Gyros? Mangoes or Oranges?
Kevin: Doubles. (he pauses) I hate mangoes.
Eljon: What?! How can you hate mangoes? You guys have sweet mangoes in St. Vincent.
Kevin: I just hate mangoes and I can't eat oranges. I love fresh squeezed orange juice. Not oranges though, must be juice!

Eljon: What is something your fans don't know about you?
Kevin: How approachable and friendly I am. I'm very down to earth.
Eljon: Very true.

Eljon: What would you be doing if you weren't a singer?
Kevin: Well, I would have pursued Electronical Engineering. I studied in St. Vincent and was going to leave to pursue it. I was actually a Customs Officer when "Turn Me On" came out.

Eljon: If you had a time machine and could travel to any time, where would you go?
Kevin: Wow… mmm, I don't know where I would go… I think I would travel back to when man first walked on the moon just to see people's reactions. I would go back to when Christopher Columbus proved that the earth was round to see humanity witness something spectacular!

Eljon: Describe yourself in one word.
Kevin: Colorful.

Eljon: What makes you smile?
Kevin: Beautiful people. Natural beauty. Enjoying life makes me smile.

And it certainly looked like Kevin was enjoying life and making the most of the day.
