There’s no downplaying Trinidad and Tobago’s annual Army fete. For years, the military themed event has drawn crowds in excess of five thousand, with most, if not all, agreeing that the fete, which is endorsed by the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force, has stood firmly as the safest party event in Carnival.

The original Army Fete is known and loved, by patrons, world- over. For 2010, organizers have been assiduously working to build a new concept for the out door- hardcore carnival feting experience. In 2010, the team agrees that the start of a new decade means there must be some level of rejuvenation to the events of the past ten years- even though they’ve all proven successful over the years. “The Army Fete experience will maintain its signature style and coordination but in 2010, the masses we’re expecting will be relieved of much of the hassle associated with parking, purchasing tickets and even viewing the stage. We intend to ensure safety is priority and together with the sponsors, which include, Blue Waters, Digicel, Carib and Simon’s Musical- we’re guaranteeing every patron an atmosphere uniquely tailored to their needs,” said one member of the Defence Force who is heavily involved in the planning.

The event on February 5th, 2010, will see the likes of Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons and Asylum, Shurwayne Wincheter and YOU, Roy Cape & the Kaiso All Stars, TC, Iwer George, Patch and a host of other sensational acts, take the stage in what promises to be a military engagement that’ll put any other similar engagements, to rest. In 2009, the feting experience included a tribute to Super Blue and for 2010, there will be similar honours handed down to yet another icon whose music is loved and enjoyed by thousands, if not millions, around the Caribbean and the world.

Many agree that nothing can touch an original and for this reason, organizers are certain the fete will be one of Carnival 2010’s greatest party experiences. For more information, log on to Facebook- keyword: Army Fete 2010.
