ASIS International has seated its first-ever Global Board of Directors. Creating history in 2020 as one of the first directors selected through the new governance process is Malcolm B. Reid, CPP. The selection of the new global board is a major step in the association’s sixty-five (65) year history and a significant transition to a new global governance structure that will allow ASIS to better serve its tens of thousands of members at the local, regional, and global levels.

Come Carnival 2021 the island’s most consistent provider of platforms of local culture will present the first ever, International Retro Soca Monarch competition. (IRSM).

This competition will be open to all local and international soca artistes, the seasoned as well as the developing. Randy Glasgow, founder of RGP, said he and his team intend to meet with the Caribbean Prestige Foundation, producers of the International Soca Monarch (ISM), to see whether they will adopt the IRSM concept, incorporating it into the ISM on Fantastic Friday.

Chutney Brass - The Competition from 2021


Lovers of Chutney and Chutney Soca music will be happy to know that come Carnival weekend 2021, there’ll be a new event specially designed for them.

Randy Glasgow Productions (RGP) is bringing back the massive Chutney Brass Festival, but with a twist, it returns as a competition.

The competition will be open to all Chutney and Chutney Soca Bands, both local and from other countries.

Barbados 'Love Crop Over' Campaign launched


The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) in collaboration with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) will be soft launching a new global campaign dubbed ‘Love Crop Over’. This new and invigorating campaign is all about creating an emotional connection with Crop Over and highlighting all the things loved about the annual festival such as food, heritage, music, arts and events.
