During the lesson, one guy I hadn't danced with before stood out as having a really nice lead, and I began to look forward to getting him again during the rotation. We got a dance later and it was a delight from start to finish.

A few times, of course, we missed a connection or something didn't go quite right, but hey! We smiled and kept dancing. Still, he apologized each time. I said, "You know, sometimes it's me - you don't have to assume it was always your fault." He said, "No, I do. It's the guy thing." I said, "Ah, that sounds like Mike Andino talking." He smiled and said that's who has been teaching him.

Mike is a true gentleman, and teaches men to dance with courtesy, to make the experience enjoyable for their partners. I can tell you that it makes a world of difference in how much I enjoy a dance if I know the person leading the moves is also keeping an eye out for possible collisions resulting from the moves he is about to lead! Mike teaches men how to do this, and to value safety and enjoyment over showing off.

He is also an excellent instructor of technique, and breaks down moves in a way that even a total beginner can understand and attempt to replicate. Not all instructors can do this effectively, or can view a move *from the eyes of the people being taught*, regardless of their level. (And I love that he gives Sonya props in this article, because she, too, has this gift and is an excellent instructor).

As for my new friend, the dancer at Brasil's, not only was he considerate, but also had clearly been taught his technique very, very well. Thanks, Mike, for releasing dancers like this into the wild. Send more!!!

We roar with laughter with the sound effects or memory aids he creates to help us remember new moves. Mike is a joy to take lessons from, not to mention one hot guy!
