It was about a twenty to thirty minute drive over to St. Peter in search for the 18-acre Ebworth House, a secluded two-story, coral stone property where world class cricket batsman, Brian Lara, hosted his first All Inclusive fete in Barbados.

If you didn't already know about Lara's Annual All Inclusive in Trinidad for the Carnival season, it's considered to be one of the premium all inclusive fetes that comes at a premium price. It's definitely an exclusive event, where the who's who all rub elbows over some drinks, so you already know when TJJ found out that Lara was throwing the same event in BIM for the first time, we had to represent.

We arrived on the estate 7ish, and it was nice to see Brian himself at the main entrance greeting folks as they arrived. We understand that he even escorted his specially invited guests - Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir David Simmons, Sir Charles Williams - to the VIP area. Desmond Haynes, along with other West Indies cricketers, past and present were in attendance. We even bounce up some good Trinidadian friends of the Jungle who flew in specially for the fete. Nice vibes all around.

With several acres of space, the venue comfortably accommodated the 3,500 plus guests. The ambiance was sweet too bad as folks wined and dined both poolside and in the courtyard. The colourful lights on the trees in the distance along with the white lawn chairs and tables added a very elegant touch. And as expected, everyone was dressed up quite snazzy… not your usual dress to fete Carnival gear. Food consisted of a mixture of Bajan and Trinidadian dishes, and tasted quite good. That Gerra Pork boy!! We saw all the condiments for Bake n Shark on one table, but no shark or bake in sight, at least at the hour we ate… so we enjoyed the pineapple chow with our main food. ;-) On the drinks menu, there was a wide variety of cocktails and other premium drinks. And better yet, bars were conveniently located throughout the venue, so you never had to go long without a drink in hand.

The live entertainment for the night was Edwin Yearwood and Krosfyah, Lil' Rick, Kimberley Inniss, Malcolm X, Styles P, and Ramases, and Destra & Atlantik. Krosfyah kicked things off around 9 PM and warmed the crowd up with their usual repertoire of hit songs. During their performance, Malcolm X, Stylez P & Rameses came on and hyped the crowd with their 2006 tune "Wine Down Low". They were immediately followed by Lil' Rick, who came out in his Dessert Storm Army gear, and entertained partgoers in true Hypa Dawg fashion. "Raise up yuh rag for me... and show me some unity ... this is a Unity Jam!" Then Kimberley Inniss joined Lil' Rick and gave a sexy, yet classy demonstration of "how she moves her hips" as they sang their popular 2k6 duet, "My Hips." All feters that were stage front were totally enjoying themselves as they allowed the music to move their souls.

Destra & Atlantik blessed the stage around 11:30 PM, and trust us, people were waiting for their Destra! It was tune after tune after tune, as Destra gave the give folks more than their monies worth in entertainment. "Tremble It", "Set It Off", "Wheyuh Want", "Carnival", "Up In The Air", "Bonnie & Clyde", "Fly", "We Say So", "Independent Ladies", "Outta Time", "Jumpin", "Max It Up" and "Aur Chale" were just some of her hits over the past decade which she perform in her usual high energy fashion. Throughout the night, it rained intermittently and this really held back the true potential of the fete as folks ran back and forth for shelter; but leave it to Destra to keep feters jumping and waving in the rain happy as can be! She got so up close and personal with the crowd that even Hypa Hoppa (RED 96.7FM) got on the mic while in the crowd towards the end of Atlantik's performance and made a personal request for which tunes he wanted Destra to sing. You requested it, so Destra rewinds…. "We wavin' til we mad, mad, mad… we behaving bad... sooooo lemme see yuh raaaaaags…. lemme see yuh wave yuh flags … woaaaaahhhh … tremble it… and raise it up, tremble it… and drag it up … tremble it… and raise it up … raise it up... raise it up!"

Destra asked Lara to buy a house in the Bahamas so we can have an All Inclusive fete there too!! We agree!! Remember to stay tuned to TriniJungleJuice.com if you want to know what on the horizon for Destra & Atlantik, trust us… we'll keep you up to d time. The fete was scheduled to go until 1 AM and we decided it was time to call it a night about 12:30 AM. Brian, thanks for having us. We had a good ole time. Kadooment Day tomorrow people… who yuh playin' mas with??
