TJJ chanted, "Dead or alive we coming!!" as we made our way down to Trini Revellers 2k7 Band Launching. Trini Reveller's Presentation for Carnival 2007, "La Revolution Francoise – The French Revolution", was held on Sunday October 15th down in de west at Pier 1, Chaguaramas. They copped the "Band of the Year" title three years in a row from 2004 to 2006, so we were confident that we would be in for some de 'bess' costumes that night – we'd bet our tickets on it!

We arrived around 8:30 pm and if yuh see cars, if yuh see people. Looking for ah spot was kinda hard but we got a hold of one in the almost empty car park, outside the venue, hmmm... strange??? Tonight, although it wasn't a free drinks affair, there would be live entertainment by the big band Traffik and Trini Revellers road DJs –Yea!!!

There wasn't any difficulty getting in because the majority of people, judging from the car park experience we just had, were already on the inside. Yup we were right, "Look at people! Yuh make me wanna..." Okay, okay, Pier 1 wasn't to its fullest capacity; there was enough room to move about freely. Every creed and race definitely found their place in this event – it felt like Carnival Monday and Tuesday again! We eventually made our way to the front of the stage to get a good view of the band launch that was about to start... All yuh mooove!!

Presentation time and the DJs flung 'tune pon tune' as the sexy male and female models walked onto the stage sporting their costumes. For one thing this band catered for everyone; short, tall, slim, stout, two-piece, whole piece – you say it, Revellers had it!! Judging from the looks of most people in the crowd they were enjoying this presentation. Trini Revellers French costumes were absolutely beautiful. After all the sections were introduced, they were brought back on stage to tease the crowd one more time.

Entertainment time! Carib girls gave out some bandanas because a lot of jumping and waving was about to take place. Caribbean Traffik Jam was on stage with Shurwayne Winchester, Candy Hoyte and the newest young member of the band, Olatunji Yearwood. Popular songs like "Look de Band Coming", "Dead or Alive" and some back in times songs like "Tiny Winey" were sung by Shurwayne. Olatunji sung Peter Ram's well-liked song "Woman by My Side" and boy did he put down some foot movements (a rising young Kitchener indeed, hehe). Folks this young man had a whole lot ah 'oomph' that night – we guess you'd have to have that if yuh moving with the energy God himself, Shurwayne. Candy Hoyte also did her thing and represented for the ladies. It felt liked hours had passed whilst they were on stage. The crowd received their performance with open arms - and feet - as they waved, danced and sang along to their music. Well done Traffik!

It was minutes to twelve when TJJ decided "yea that's enough excitement for one night." One thing for sure, Carnival 2k7, Trini Revellers here we come! Folks, if you're looking for the "Band of the Year", look no further. Much love Trini Revellers from Trini Jungle Juice... we had ah 'Grandiose Time' – or as Trinis would say 'We like we self!' Til we meet again for the "Greatest show on Earth", Carnival 2007!!
