Yes folks, D'local Juice bringing you all another dose of C2K8 band launching coverage.... we jus can't get enough!! Last year it was "Cocktails... You Shake, We Stir!" This year Pulse 8's theme is "Marrakech... Where Pleasure Awaits".

Now there is always some sort of irony in life right? Being ah Trini (in Trinidad), if its one thing we have learnt is that Trini's always late. So we took our cool time in getting to Zen and well, here's the ironic part... the folks at the door were telling us to hurry up, we missing out on everyting! By the time we reach on the Rooftop, the Pulse 8 models were doing their last media showing and heading back into the dressing room to get ready for the main presentation. Humm.... guess we stick or somebody (with Pulse 8) wasn't working on Trini time!!?? ;-)

Well after enjoying ah drink or two, we were then prompted to head downstairs for the main presentation starting in ah five. At about 9:40 PM, some pyrotechnics officially kicked off Pulse 8's Mas Presentation for Carnival 2008. With a brief interruption as some members of the crowd tried to dodge the falling sparks (which actually seemed to burn if it made contact yuh skin), the models graced the stage. As each of the band's 10 sections came on, patrons were given a brief summary of each. At the end of the half hour long presentation, band leader Meg Cheekes walked the catwalk parading with the models. The sections were Gypsy Caravan (3 parts), Henna Painters, Berber Tribe, Ras al Hanout Merchants, Spirit of Marrakech, Aguadores, Majorelle People, Diamond “Gem” Traders, Ganawa & Treasure Seekers in that order. For more information, check out out their website www.pulse8carnival.com.

There was a short intermission for on stage activity before Imij & Co. came on to perform. Lead singers Michelle X and Russell Cadogan recited several popular hits which got patrons into ah partying mood. At that point, we decided to ease back and party a bit as it was only sexy people everywhere we looked. The vibes was nice and folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. Unfortunately for us, we have to report to work bright and early the next morning, so we definitely had to cut down on the amount of fun we were having. Special big up to Ravi and de Berber Tribe crew ... Nice Everytime!
