On Sunday 23rd September, Elements presented "Sugar" which had the theme “Sunset to Sunrise ... Sweeter than Ever!” Held at Nemo’s on Mucurapo Road, the party was billed to go from Sunset to Sunrise and well TJJ did in fact see the bomb sunrise over the Gulf of Paria on Republic Day morning, bubbling to some progressive house played by Zoners till 7:30 AM while enjoying nuttin' better than some FREE hot doubles for breakfast!

Well we dunno how we reach to the end of the party before we even begin to describe the night's festivities ... humm. So let's wheel and come again! First to begin, it was the night before a holiday... yea another one of those. Like every other weekend we in Trini does find something to celebrate.. lol. As is the case, is fetes going on left, right and center and so we moving with rhel pace. One minute we in this party, the next we in that ... talk bout action!

Anyways here is de inside scoop from our visit to Nemo's. On the night we heard from Christopher Leacock, DJ Darrin, DJ Ryan, Antonio Xavier, Jerry West, DJ Lyndon, DJ Val, 2nd Nature, Gerald Aboud, DJ Hydro and surprise female DJ Tracey Assing. Humm ... talk bout DJs! Val, Lyndon and Darrin carried on extremely wicked. Lyndon incorporating a live guitarist and a live drummer into his set. Val played the only really different set all night, bringing in a bit of the UK vibe. Darrin and Antonio Xavier are probably the two hype-est House/Dance DJ's around, while Zoners played some of the heaviest tunes we had heard in a long time.

Being a collaborative event, there was more laptops, turntables, CD mixers and interfaces than you could shake a stick at, and somehow there was seamless transitions between sets, with DJ's playing on opposite sides of the main floor and outside on the deck too.

Nemo’s was well laid out and decorated for the event. Translucent glow paintings were on the walls for sale, sick lighting, lounge seating and a rock back area outside on the deck. Well due to a strategic combination of Elements, they were fortunate to have one of the best raves in recent memory. Besides the small security issue, hopefully we can expect to see loads more of good things to come in the near future.

We out ....
