Today was the first day of the two day long grand finale of the Fetealotathon® and we in Tribe. Last year we gave you the run down for the entire experience from registration to the final bell, including the good, the bad and the ugly. Let's see how Tribe did this year.

This year Tribe introduced online registration; this gave foreign masqueraders a fair shot at getting the costume of their choice. For a first time project, it worked out pretty well. Masqueraders were instructed to pick up their costumes on various days according to their section which on paper was a pretty good idea. Only trouble was that in typical Trini fashion, people pretty much went when ever they felt like. Maybe next year, Tribe should not even entertain anyone who does not come on their designated day. While the process was pretty well organized, Tribe experienced some growing pains and due to share volume customers may have waited a tad longer than they would have liked to.

Fast forward to the big day, 10:30am and TJJ is on hand to witness the greatest show on earth with the already legendary Tribe Band. Yuh could feel the excitement in the air as folks made their way to their respective sections. Not too many people wear their costume or at least their full costume on Monday. While it may take away from the beauty of the mass it certainly doesn't stop the good times and to a certain extent actually ads to the feeling of revelry.

So what the good about Tribe this year you ask? We would have to say that it the Tribe quality of service that we have come to expect. Fast courteous service at the drinks trucks, an abundance of Tribe security, clear instructions, time tables and maps for all masqueraders and top notch food service. The music was on point as well, with all the big DJs from North America and the Caribbean blazin all the hits. The Red truck was especially full of vibes touching classics from today and yesteryear. Nothing like chippin' dong d round as the sun setting to some classics like "Meh Lover." Security needs to be more on point especially around the Red FM truck, to keep non Tribe members out of the band. They did a much better job of this last year.

Speakin' about chippin' down the road, all day long there was one burning question from all Tribe masqueraders: Where they want us to paly mas, on the pavement? For what ever reason security insisted that all truck be so close together, many times there was no room for people to chip behind a truck. This was especially frustratin' on the narrow roads. PLEASE let masqueraders have some room to play mas! We not asking for much, just ah lil 2 truck lengths. Always having to move out of the way while some big truck bellowin' a horn behind yuh is not the Tribe we all know and love.

Tomorrow is another day, if yuh keeping up with the Fetealotathon® events yuh know we need some rest before the 7:30 am start tomorrow! God bless and good night form sweet TnT.
