The Appraiser joins the Fetealotathon® a little later than usual this year. It's the Tuesday before the big day and we in Piarco with a roller board in one hand and duty free, big like luggage, in the other. Carnival supplies must never done! As expected, Hertz buss out with some Anancy story. However, I have to hail up Nigel and the crew for doing everything possible to insure that I did not end up on the infamous "waiting list" because it wudda be a week after Ash Wednesday before this TJJ journalist see ah car. So we have wheels and we headed straight for A.W.O.L to link the rest of the TJJ crew who running the race long time now. We ain't so worried bout what ever in the roller board, but we lil' concerned bout the safety of Johnny Blue and all his friends in the trunk. No scene though, the A.W.O.L fam usually accommodates the fam with prime parking. Lehwe go and check the vibes!

Entrance was a breeze as usual, the A.W.O.L committee always takes care of us. Inside the dance, the vibes nice already. We see Corn Soup, Creole food, Indian food, a Johnny Green bar and a couple other bars, so we know "A" is for action on the food and drinks front. This year DJ Anonymous and DJ Cin were joined by High Fidelity/Less Than Zero who made their A.W.O.L debut. Benny and Kern (High Fidelity/Less Than Zero) took the wheels at about 8:45pm and clearly came out to make their mark on the fete. Mission accomplished, dance buss! At 9:06pm, High Fidelity/Less Than Zero rinse off a set of quick mixes with only hype tunes. Dance was so hype ah mad buss he arse, try to spring back up before he even hit the ground which only cause him to have a secondary buss arse, and the ground wet from earlier showers too eh. When pallos finally make it to he feet, he proceeded straight to the bar, I wudda need a drink after that too yes. Benny doh, next year get a parking pass eh, it doh look real celeb to buss a dance and then jump in a shuttle (small maxi) to get back to yuh car :-)

So the A.W.O.L crowd definitely growing, and still the quality of the product remains very high. This is quite a fitting way for this arm of team TJJ to kick off C2K8. We passin' the pavilion for the first time in Fetealotathon® 2008 and we anticipating the final furlong Monday and Tuesday next week. Though this is a marathon and not a sprint, we buss the tape at A.W.O.L and we off to de Oval for EWS. Gotta large up the A.W.O.L crew for looking out for the TJJ fam! We'll be there next year!
