After two glorious days of wining, jumping and waving in the blazin sun, the short and hectic Carnival season was finally over. It's Ash Wednesday ... the start of lenten season! Now we were watching a television program and the topic was "Carnival Blues", where the doctor was saying that people who choose to totally abandon all drinking, feting and liming immediately following the Carnival season will most likely experience alcohol & partying withdrawal symptoms. You know ... anxiety, depression, insomnia, irritability, difficulty with thinking clearly, bad dreams, carnival tabanca and the list goes on and on. And as such, it's recommended to gradually reduce the level of all the vices that's associated with Carnival. So, not wanting to get this so-called "Carnival Blues", we needed to find a fete... fast, fast! smile

A quick pit-stop in West Moorings to link up Sig Juice, and we're further West bound to the West Palm Hotel. This was the 1st time for the season that we went past The Hanger (home of Bacchanal Wednesday and Trini Posse), so passing The Anchorage brought back a lot of great memories of all the partying we did back in da day. Another 5-10 minute drive along the west coast, and we arrived. There was secured parking at the hotel, and we managed to cop a bess park. No worries, there's plenty of street parking when the lot gets full. We were greeted with all smiles by the PAR-D ladies at the entrance, so it was time to see what's poppin' on the inside.

Flip Flops anyone? Havaianas was giving away a FREE PAIR OF FLIP FLOPS for the first 200 guests. Some of them even had the Trini flag on it... real styles! A few steps further into the party, and braaaps .... there's a massage station - we talkin' bout a private tent and massage tables, accompanied by professional masseuses. We know they advertised FREE FOOT MASSAGES, but people were getting the whole nine yards to massage their carnival aches and pains away (photo)! The pampering didn't stop here. There was a manicure/pedicure station too (photo) - and the ladies took full advantage.

So what's on the food and drinks menu for this All Inclusive? Besides the standard corn soup, bake n shark and doubles, this party actually had a BBQ BUFFET. Chicken and Ribs ... and if you didn't want to indulge in meat for lent, fish was available. The jerk style bar-b-que went down nice. Now more impressive than the food were the PREMIUM DRINKS! There were 4 different bars - a general bar, a Heineken bar (which also served Green Sands ... yes, we know... when last you had a Green Sands?), a Wine bar and a Martini bar serving up a wide variety of flavored Smirnoff vodka (watermelon, orange, raspberry, cranberry, vanilla, strawberry... you name it). Shots is your ting? PAR-D Promotions had that covered with ice cold Jaagermeister and Green Moon shots!

We didn't even talk about the venue yet. Yes, we partying POOLSIDE! Everything was nicely set up around the pool, with the main dancing area on the grass just in front of the DJ tent, still close to all bars, so you didn't have to walk far to quench your thirst. The atmosphere (photo) really made you feel like you were at a true Cooldown party, and the music was on point all night. You had some of the big names in the DJ business on the set through out the evening ... Mr. PlayHouse D Starboy reppin' the T-Dot, Hi Fidelity/Less Than Zero, Jase of RED 96.7 and even Giselle D Wassi One represented. Question: How you can tell if the DJs did their jobs at a poolside fete? Answer: 1. When you see a conga-line going around the pool and 2. When they make people jump into the pool (wearing their party clothes n all)!! Put a check mark next to both for this party.

Flips Flops.... everything that was promised for the bill was delivered, plus more. PAR-D Promotions, you guys are off to a very nice start to what we can only hope will become a TnT Carnival tradition. Folks keep your eye on this one for next year, it go be RAM!

The night is still young, The After Party ... Machel Montano HD @ Zen tuh go! Soca in we viens....
