It's the Sunday before Carnival Sunday, so you can only imagine how HOT de fete scene is in Trini. The TJJ Red Team went sailing on the Treasure Queen for Flight Cruise 5 (we hope they ent get left at the docks), and the Blue Team decided to head out early to Valsayn to check out Privilege's annual Jamboree Sunday fete. Yes, after having a nice time at Wicked In White, we know Privilege does throw some bessss fetes! So, we ent stickin'.

We arrived at Jamboree Park just before the sun started to set and partygoers were socializing and getting their drink on, while waiting on the live performances to kick off. Tonight we're looking at an 'All Ladies Headliner Cast'. We talkin' bout ... Michelle Xavier & Imij & Co., Nadia Batson & KES The Band and Destra & Atlantik. Like we getting a preview to Girl Power!! ;-)

Now gentle peoples, have you seen some of the Indian beauties that come out of Princess Town, Rio Claro, Chaguanas, Arima, Couva and Sando? Well man they sure came out in their numbers, sporting their hottie hot outfits, looking sweet too bad!! Ah love meh baytti! And yes, rum is meh lover too!! Hehe.

High Fidelity/Less than Zero ripped up the fete as usual playing a nice mix of old and new Soca, with some of my favourite Chutney chunes in the mix. Thanks Benny & Kern ... TJJ loves you guys! It wasn't too long before Imij & Co. came on stage, and to tell you the honest truth, I really enjoy their performances through out the Carnival season. This is one reason why I always return to Jamboree Sunday ... because I'm guaranteed to see them perform.

Then it was break time .... yes, more rum for me!! Next up was KES the Band. Whey... Kees come on the stage with Nadia performing their feel good vibe, then spaaaa-dawww, Kees takes of his shirt!! Now ah was already at the back of the fete, and couldn't get any photos of him... sorry ladies. But no worries, the TJJ Red Team arrived on the scene just in time to catch Kees leaving ... and yes, he was still bareback (photo)!

While everyone was waiting for Destra & Atlantik to set up, food was the order of business. Well lewwe just say that we collect ah good buss head from the Doubles man!! Yeah boy, $5TT ah doubles!! And watch ting ... de Doubles man have security that making people line up in an orderly fashion. Well yes, WE REACH! So belly full, and we ready to JAM. But now the sound system was cutting off every 10 minutes, and this started a signal for feters to make their way home. Work in de morning! And unfortunately, because of the technical issues with the sound system, Destra never performed. And in case you were wondering, she was in fact there, ready to mash up de park (photo)!!

Finally the sound system was up and running again pumpin' more sweet Soca. And better yet, the promoters say de fete going for another hour!! Yeah yeah!! So everyone rhel happy and getting their 'one for de road' wine, jump and wave all in. Then after about 20 minutes, braaaaaps ... Po PO shut de fete down!! Big Cheeeeeeupssss!!! Why de 'Boys in Blue' always quick to spoil ah good time??!! We caught up with the one of the promoters, who informed us that they did in fact have their license for the fete to go on, but the police gave them a 6 for a 9, talkin' bout ... if Destra's not performing, the fete cannot go on. Politricks!!

So, it was time to buss de tape and bounce de starter. We must big up Sean, Gregory & the entire Privilege committee for the luv extended to the TJJ fam. Rain or shine, we'll see you guys next year!!

Peace, Rum & Happiness
