Day two of the Fetalotathon® for the TJJ Red Team, takes us to our annual pre Bacchanal Wednesday stop, SOS– Lost In Paradise. We mentioned it last year but in case yuh forget, the venue fuh this one is that bar you see on the left, just before you hit the last corner heading down the hill to Maracas. The weather was perfect and we headed up to this one with a special enthusiasm. This is one of our favorite places to fete, boasting one of Trinidad's better views, we were first introduced to this on a few years ago in A.W.O.L. The only venue that can compete with this view is probably the Eclipze venue. TJJ rolled up to this one just in time to enjoy the sunset. Sprang International, good friends of the TJJ fam was on the wheels of steel when we arrived and he was warming up the crowd as they steadily made their way in. I could be never see come see (that proves that I'm a Trini .. hehe), but I was surprised to see a hair and makeup area for the ladies in this fete. Makeup artists and hair stylists were on hand to brush up the ladies makeup and hair for them, a very nice touch indeed.

SOS featured the usual suspects as far as the food lineup in an All Inclusive and everything was on point. The doubles man like he real try tuh stretch the sauce lil too much doh, was lil' watery. The service at the bar was probably as close to perfect as you could get in an All Inclusive. The bar was well stocked and most importantly well staffed so you didn't have to wait more that a few seconds to get a drink. The bar staff were not just responsive, but polite and enthusiastic as well .... worth mentioning because it's becoming more the exception than the rule in All Inclusive's these days.

NY's DJ Anonymous took the wheels after Sprang Int'l and continued to carry the torch for the predominantly New York crowd who were getting into their groove by now. We missed the Riddim Section this year to enhance the big iron tunes. Joy Juice and Back to Basics also kept the crowd moving. Radioactive was billed to be on the cast but by the time TJJ pulled out, we had not seen them.

SOS remains a well organized fete that hits the spot for a Carnival Wednesday early lime. The attention to detail in this one really makes all the difference. If you there to just have a great time, you may not notice it but it really plays a big part in setting that vibe. If you there to really notice what going on while having a good time (nice job eh), the evidence is plain to see. Nice job SOS crew, we'll see you all in the Fetalotathon® next year!
