Let's get de ting started right .... run Sanell Dempster's "Chocolate". Right, nice!

J'ouvert is all about the mud, oil, power and paint ... but to add to the excitement and make things ever sweeter, Chocolate City decided to add hot dark liquid chocolate in the mix. Mmmmmm .... unlimited licking! smile

Peoples, it's Thursday evening, about 6.45pm. The weather is lovely and peaceful, and TJJ on the move. Located on the corner of Robert and Murray Street is Chocolate City J'ouvert band house. From a distance we could see the yellow Synergy TV car (Whitney must be on the inside) and photographers in the yard mingling ... yeah this must be "de scene". On the inside, media, sponsors and specially invited guests mingled as we were greeted by the band leader himself, Zarin.

Socializing and sampling the food and drink was the agenda as we awaited the main presentation. The Bake and Shark was hot and well seasoned, reminding us of Maracas. Yum! Drinks on the other hand, ranged from the usual Carib, Scotch & Rum. Adding to the cast, was a brand new energy drink called "Crunk Juice" (Lil Jon's drink).

Lights, cameras, action. What seemed to be a calm blue ocean, entered the runway as the first highlight to hit the stage. Dressed in a blue skirt with head piece and accessories was a sneak preview of Chocolate City's section "Water" from the mas band D'Krewe.

Back into the socializing mode, we were able to snap the crowd and catch some of the live performances by Killa and Cedona, noth new artistes on the soca scene, but not forgetting our boy from Traffik, Eddie Charles (also part of the Chocolate City camp).

While engaging in a lil' conversation with the X bar girl, the site of three hotties distracted the ole talk - yeah it's the Chocolate City girls!! They were all dressed in red thin strap tops with pom pom shorts, and all we could say is, "Dem girls sweet like Hershey's chocolate!!" Walking towards the stage with a bucket in one hand and a chocolate bar in the next, they proceed to bathe themselves with chocolate; these ladies surely represented the Chocolate City of J'ouvert!

Things got a little sweeter, as these chocolate babes decided to bring the presentation thru the crowd as they poured chocolate over the committee members, and even some guests ... the thing sweet to bad. Catching the pics from all angles and settings, we had to put TJJ's own creative spin on things by formulating an exclusive pose for the ladies (see photos 047 and 048). Thank us later! Hehe.

Things were a little sticky with chocolate all over the place, but nevertheless, it was a extraordinary presentation. Even the King of Swag, Super Jigga TC, made an appearance singing his 2k9 hit "Again", and giving off some humuor.

Folks, if you're looking for something different from the regular oil, paint and mud come J'Ouvert morning, Chocolate City J'Ouvert is the way to go! Sweeter and better yet, it edible! Plus you'll have unlimited licking to do!!

Signing out,
D'Young Juice
