There are very few parties in the United States that I really get ramped up and excited for but, there a few.

I can tell you right now that I'm looking forward to and awaiting the arrival of Soca Brainwash in Miami Carnival in 2015. I am also looking forward to the Arrivals Fete during Miami Carnival this year.  And the Vale Breakfast Fete in Miami is awesome as well.  I've never been to Vaughn's Red Eye Breakfast Party in New York, but from what I understand, I need to put it on my soda can list. (FYI, my soda can list is like my bucket list but the items are not as massive.)

But, one party that I look forward to, without a doubt is the Flag Fete in Orlando, FL during the Orlando Carnival weekend.

Why?

Well, some of the reasons are particular and some of them, sentimental.  In 2012, after my introduction to TNT Carnival, the 2012 Flag Fete was the first stateside fete that I did. And, my goodness, it was incredible.  Machel Montano performed and it was a fete to remember. Since that time and every year after, the Flag Fete has been a fete that showcases some of the biggest and best talents in the soca world.  Because I was hooked I returned for the 2013 Flag Fete.  And the Flag Fete has been on my calendar every year, ever since. At the 2014 Flag Fete I had an absolutely incredible time and as I've said, I'm looking forward to Flag Fete 2015.

Over the years, I've enjoyed the sounds of Bunji, Fay-Ann, Destra, Lyrical, Tallpree, Nadia, Kerwin and many others and this year is going to be special as well.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn't excited.  I think part of it is because Majah Hype is hosting the show and ah cyah wait fuh meh belly to buss from laughing.  If you've never watched any of Majah Hype's videos or seen him perform, just take a look at this video.

The other reason why is because of the artist lineup.   I have to work and run a training camp in Cape Coral in the morning of the 23rd and I don't finish until 2:30pm and I'm telling you right now that I will shower and shave and hop my behind right in the car and make the drive to Orlando because I AM NOT MISSING THE FLAG FETE.
