Creative Director, Simone St. Rose, and Operations Director, Emilie Ramsahai, have brought New Empire Interiors, their recently-established furniture company, to the international design arena and have captured the attention of architects and interior designers alike.

The Company was established in February 2007 with a view to producing furniture inspired by the African, Asian, European and indigenous influences of the West Indies with the use of local materials and craftsmanship.

The Company offers precisely handcrafted furniture produced in kiln-dried solid hardwood timber obtained only from sustainable resources and available in a range of stains and finishes.

A launch party will be held at Abovegroup, Seven, Fernandes Industrial Centre on Thursday 26th March with the introduction of the Lobi Collection, a new range of furniture inspired by a traditional hand-carved piece from Burkino Faso in West Africa.

With the success of the Driftwood Collection, a more contemporary range of furniture produced on the onset, the Lobi Collection continues to embody a contemporary vernacular and promises to bring fresh new inspiration to modern interiors with authentic, timeless appeal.

Simone St. Rose, a resident of Trinidad & Tobago and the visionary behind the design of the pieces for New Empire Interiors, celebrated the tenth anniversary of Simone St. Rose Interior Design last year, having worked on hotels, resorts, villa and condominium developments and private homes, mainly in the Eastern Caribbean.

Simone: ‘When Emilie expressed a keen interest in being a part of the Company, which is almost two years ago now, I was moving away to live, intending to develop my ideas in a more peaceable environment. We couldn’t have had that discussion at a more appropriate time and, soon after that, she became an equal partner.’

In the areas of project, logistics and financial management, Ms. Ramsahai, also a resident of Trinidad & Tobago, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company, having worked as senior manager for various corporations, contributing significantly at both operational and strategic levels.

Simone: ‘Emilie’s enthusiasm and dedication is second to none, except for the odd game of golf on the weekend, and she is an absolute delight to work with.’

New Empire Interiors, with a team made in heaven, holds no boundaries for growth and expansion. We wish the two entrepreneurs much continued success!
