Carnival in TNT is one of the greatest shows on earth. And with that, you will do things that you've never done before in your life. You will dance more than you've ever danced, laugh more than you've ever laughed and wine more than you've ever wine. And you'll probably listen to more soca than you thought was possible.

And for those that drink who are first-timers or what we call carnival virgins -- you will drink more alcohol than you've ever drank in your life. And will all the songs that talk about rum and liquor, the non-drinker may be inclined to take a swig or two of a drink and then before you know it..... BOOM!!!

So, Tip Number 6 is for the drinkers and the non-drinkers.

Tip Number 6

First and foremost, if you do NOT drink alcohol, CARNIVAL IS NOT THE PLACE TO START.

That’s not a rule.

That’s a mandate, an imperative.

Just like it’s a “no-no” to run a marathon in some shoes that you have not trained it, it is a “no-no” to go on the road or in fetes during carnival drinking when you do not drink. Here's the tip for today: Every time you have a drink, the second drink is a bottle of water – PERIOD You MUST pace yourself when you are drinking. Drinking too much too early is a no-no. This rule is a non-negotiable rule. It is one that you should follow.

Remember Carnival is a marathon, not a sprint.

You will party like you have never partied before. You will attend parties that start at 4am and end at 12:00noon. The parties will start off with loaded coffee shots. There will be rum and coke. There will be vodka and orange juice. The party will be all-inclusive and that means the drinks will continue to flow. Not only will they flow, there will be hostesses walking around with shot glasses and bottles of hard liquor. If you do nothing else – as a drinker, follow this rule. Following it may seem cumbersome but taking this precaution will allow you to pace yourself.
